Artist in Residence Application
Our Artist-in-Residence program was created in 2015 to support artists, performers, and makers of all types and disciplines. The program gives artists the ability to work freely in their own studio space within the Main library, share their works and artistic process with the community, and provide learning opportunities and art programs for library customers.
will have full access to their own studio space during their residency, as well as access to the Media and Fine Arts Studios and Woodshop. are required to keep 20 open office hours monthly and collaborate with library staff on arts programming for the public. are encouraged to work in their studio as much as possible, to allow library customers and community members observe the artistic process in real time. will receive a monthly stipend (programming supplies provided by the library) are expected to lead art programs and workshops for library customers and/or staff during the residency
Priority will be given to artists who present ideas for projects that fall in line with Richland Library’s promises: to Enhance the Customer Experience, and to Advance Our Community. Proposals should state an overall goal for accomplishing these promises in their workshop and project ideas.
