The New Healthcare Repeal Plan

As you may know on Monday, March 6th a new healthcare plan proposal was released. This 123-page legislation details what healthcare could look like in our country, if passed into law.

Here’s What We Know:

Name of Plan: American Health Care Act (AHCA)

What is the Plan: The AHCA is actually two bills – one from the Energy & Commerce Committee and one from the Ways & Means Committee

Who: Introduced by House Republicans

While this new plan has been released, it is not law. It is just a proposal or draft of possible new legislation that could become law. The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA)/Obamacare is still the law.

If you need to speak to someone about getting insurance or have questions, we here at Richland Library have Certified Navigators on staff and want to help you understand your options and/or this plan.

Stay tuned for weekly Monday updates on the new healthcare plan. Next week: AHCA: What’s Staying the Same?
